When you lose Family...

When you lose Family...
Your mind is flooded with memories and moments made together and apart, but your heart is left empty and aching. Time seems to flash by all too fast, but at the same time it stands at a stillness that seems to go on indefinitely. You don't know which way is up or when it all started, or when it will end, you just know it isn't going to be the same.

When you lose Family, there is no more good or bad, right or wrong. It all fades to the back and what you are left with is a want for more. More time, more chances, more dinners, more laughs, more pictures, more gatherings to just be family again. There won't be a memory going forward that won't lack the space that was. As family you are strong because of those memories, some will be bitter sweet, but going forward we can only get stronger by carrying on and creating more.

When you lose Family, you have no choice but to pick up where they left off. To love as deep as they did, to fight as hard as they would have fought for the traditions we all belong to. Fun times or struggle, it all comes back to Family. You circle the wagons, you draw each other closer, one step at a time you make a new. Not forgetting or denying what once was, but honoring the love that time helped grow.

Rest in Peace Uncle Ces...
our boys will always be your Goombah's!

Always - Abbey
