Blog BLOCKED

24 days.
It's been 24 days since I last blogged.
Why?
I have no other excuse other than...
We've been busy making memories.
Running and walking as a family... 3 5K's on the books!
We have been cheering and biting our nails with soccer excitement.
Loving every minute of watching our boys grow in a sport that our family is beginning to adore.
We welcomed friends who feel like family to the metroplex we love.
We ran with every ounce of energy that we had to show these dear ones a good time...
And came out with a weekend chalked full of memories!
We settled into summer with wish-lists and to-dos galore!
On the summer time horizon...
Learning to blow a bubble.
 Meeting up with friends.
Annnnd maybe constructing a tent city that will be the envy of the block!!
And lastly...
I have been watching closely, arguing with, tip-toeing around, loving on, keeping up with, and wrestling these two boys to avoid the summer swear word...
BOREDOM!!!!
Slip-n-Slide...
Check!
Laughing while one brother head-locks the other brother under the water sprayer...
Check!
No signs of boredom around here!!!

On my summer list of wishes...
Blog More (if you hadn't already guessed)
Keep up reading (on book 4 of the summer)
Enjoy our boys (head-locks and all)

Cheers to Summer 2013

6 years

It's amazing to me what time can teach.
6 years ago today I was already headed to the hospital to meet our son.
Uncertainty and the unknown weighted heavily on us, excitement and happiness were there but they were tempered.
Today I sit and type without a worry for him as he rides his new scooter around the living room...
celebration laps dedicated to being 6.
We didn't know 6 years ago the vibrant light he would bring. We prayed for it, oh how we prayed!
We couldn't imagine the laughter that this child would bring each and every day. We wished for it though.
Never in a million years could we have guessed how amazing this little man would turn out to be, but oh man...
He is ever amazing!
Excitement is no longer tempered where this kid is concerned, he doesn't allow it.
Matthew Ray has taught us to smile first before all else.
He pushes us to find happiness and his caring nature never wains.
He leads us to giggles and laughter more than not and always gives comedic relief in the mostly timely fashion.
God knew this boy's plan before we did.
Even when we were faced with struggle and uncertainty in his coming to be, God had this little boy's hand...
His name said so, Matthew: Gift from God.
We have learned to trust in God's plan more because of who he is growing up to be, and who we have grown into being by just loving him.
6 years can teach a lot.
We love you to the Moon and back, Matthew Ray...
forever and always!!
